WE CARE, INC. GOLF OUTING A SUCCESS
The sky was clear on a warm Monday, June 13th 2016. Oh, what a good sign for the 22nd annual We Care, Inc. golf outing. After being rained out on two different occasions last year it was a relief to everyone not to worry about the weather. Paul Betteridge, the golf pro at Pekin Country Club, and Mike Hutchinson, Executive Director at We Care, Inc., were almost dancing in the parking lot they were so happy.
The registration began at 11:00 am with a barbeque lunch starting at 11:30. The volunteers Carolyn Hounshell, John Myers, Mary Ann Betteridge, and Diane Schwarzentraub, made the registration process as much fun as the golfing. More fun if you play as poorly as I. After lunch the players started at 1:00, with drinks and snacks on the course, they were back having a prime rib and chicken buffet by 5:30pm.
We Care, Inc. had over 20 raffle prizes, including a 43” flat screen TV and a 50/50 to give away during dinner.
By 6:30 the prizes had all been distributed and everyone was on their way home. What a great day!
A big “thank you” goes out to the We Care, Inc. golf committee (Arlen Edelman, Mike Kuhl, Ryan Johnson, and Chad Zobrist) as well as the loyal golfers for another successful outing at the Pekin Country Club.
A special thank you goes out to our sponsors who made this event possible: Zobrist Construction, Keach Architectural Design, Inc., Kuhl Insurance, Ag-Land FS, Inc., Modern Methods, Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton Community Bank, Hurckes-McCord Financial, Heartland Bank, Melmat Farms, Faye Walker, Kaiser Electrical Contractors, Carolyn Hounshell, Lighthouse GMC Buick, Mike Yordy & Sons, Brahlers, Judy Petefish, Schooner’s, Mike Murphy Ford, Casey’s General Store, Markley’s Pest Elimination Services, NCI Business Systems, Inc., Benckendorf & Benckendorf, P.C., Peoria Brick Company, Trophy Pro Shop, Lennie’s Meat, Great American Popcorn Company, Dairy Queen, Leaves & Beans, Monicals Pizza, McDonalds and Upscale Resale.
