Our Mission Statement

about-wecare

“Provide services that help individuals maintain independence and improve the quality of life for those in need.”

Our Goal

To have our clients remain in their own homes as long as possible.

For 40 years, We Care has addressed the needs of older persons and persons with disabilities through the following programs:

Meals on Wheels – This was the first program offered to the community. It began in 1975 with a group of concerned children wanting to ensure their parents had proper nutrition and a hot meal each day. Meals are made available for those persons 60 and older, persons with disabilities or those who cannot provide adequate nutrition for themselves. The meals are delivered in the Morton area five days a week by volunteers.

Transportation – This program began in 1976 along the same lines that the parents now needed a reliable means of transportation to doctor’s appointments, grocery shopping, etc. The transportation program was started with two station wagons and has now grown into a fleet of 30 vehicles used in Rural Tazewell County, Woodford County, and Morton.

Food Pantry – This service began in 1983 when funds became available to establish a food distribution program to help those in need in our community. We are fortunate to receive donations for our pantry from local food drives, churches, and citizens in the community wishing to help.
